When I first spoke with Michael (who had taken the reigns on the wedding planning) I learned that Deanna was a frequent marathon runner. I could tell right away she was some kind of super-woman! The only marathon I’ve been able to manage involves Netflix.
“We met on E-Harmony. While there were many things that attracted us, I think Michael would agree that he liked that I was a teacher and had good values, and I liked that he was tall, had a career, and many interests. I knew there was potential when he sent his first e-mail and there were not only paragraphs but proper sentences and grammar. He know I was shy and on our first phone conversation he did such a good job making sure there were no awkward silences. I was sold on the first date when he actually was tall — rounding up is very common when dating online! We were inseparable after our second date.”
“I was very indecisive and Michael used to joke that I didn’t want to marry him so he proposed Banff and I said ‘Yeah sure, as long as you plan it and I just have to show up with my dress!’ He stuck to it and planned the whole thing, and what a great job he did.”
“I saw Michael for the first time as I was about to walk down the aisle. He started to tear up, which I have never seen him do in the 4 years I have been with him. [That was] the most memorable moment for me.”
“Just after I got pregnant I went and tried on dresses. We thought we might do a quick wedding. I found the perfect dress for a huge winter wedding. I kept it in the back of my mind and went to try some more dresses on thinking we might to a beach wedding instead. When we decided on Banff I was happy that I already had a dress that I knew would be flattering. It felt like fate.”
“My family is known for doing toasts as a rhyming poem. So, I was expecting that, but this time they sang a song to the tune of ‘All About that Bass’. It was so well done and everyone was involved.”
Thank you Deanna & Michael for allowing me to be a part of your special wedding day! It was truly a pleasure to work with you, your family, and your beautiful girls.
